Dear Friends,

I started The M4YG Project as a personal challenge to share my music and discovered a God-given mission to encourage Christians everywhere to live MORE for the glory of God.

This is My M4YG Story.

I am Harriet Williams: child of God, military spouse, mother of five, home educator, gospel songwriter, and worship leader. My M4YG Story began with the conviction that God deserves MORE for His glory in four aspects of my life: myself, my marriage, my motherhood, and my ministry.

For most of 2011 - 2014, my husband worked overseas. I felt overwhelmed with family responsibilities and discouraged in my ability to handle kids, house, and ministry. But it was in that season God challenged me to live MORE for His glory and to share MORE for His glory.

I've been writing songs since I was ten years old (or longer - that's as far as I can remember), but I shared very few of them. The more I served in music ministry as an adult, the more God-songs the Lord gave me. Those songs were both comfort and inspiration to me through many seasons and challenges of life. Through times of joy and distress, times of hope and sadness, God spoke to me - His Word and His Spirit uniting lyrics and melody with His Truth. It was these songs that God wanted to get out of my notebook so His people will know His goodness and receive life changing lessons about forgiveness, about holiness, about love, about worship, and about His glory.

The inspiration for "More for Your Glory" was sparked in the fall of 2011, but the catalyst that moved me to post a song on YouTube was the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on December 14, 2012. When I sang "Broken Hearted Christmas" at church the following week, I realized that God was ministering to His people through the song. I'm so glad I didn't keep it to myself!

The MORE I share, the MORE songs God gives me to share. The MORE songs God gives me to share, the stronger the conviction grows in my heart: God deserves MORE for His Glory. As The M4YG Project develops, God requires MORE faith, MORE focus, and MORE faithfulness in me. By faith, I need to continue to be a strong, godly wife for my husband. My five kids still need me to be a focused, righteous mom and home educator. My local church needs me to be a faithful, willing servant. So, I lean ever so much MORE on the everlasting arms of Jesus and He provides the strength, the grace, and the song to glorify Him day after day.

Surely, God is not done with me yet; but this I know – the praise and confession of one person, one church, one community, or one nation is not enough to honor Him. Considering how much God has loved us and forgiven us, we cannot refuse to live MORE for His glory.

“(We) are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13 NIV

The M4YG Project is about being a salty Christian – a godly influence at home, at church, in the community, in the world. “We know one day all men will bow, but (He deserves) more glory now. We know one day all will confess, but we can’t wait to show them Jesus!” I hope that you get involved with The M4YG Project. It’s more than a gospel album, it’s a global outreach to encourage Christians everywhere to live MORE for the glory of God. Be encouraged, take the challenge, and pass it on!

For HIS glory,

H
